Bilingual Bird Guide for Youth
¿CUÁL ES ESE PÁJARO? What’s That Bird

This bilingual guide was developed by New Hope Bird Alliance’s Education Committee Members Tom Driscoll, Susan Lyon Stone, and Margie Muenzer, with help from other chapter members. Our goal was to have a bird guide available to Spanish-speaking youth to help teach them about birds and their habitats, and how to identify the birds common to central North Carolina. With text in both Spanish and English, it can be used by English-speakers as well. The guide is being distributed to community groups, libraries, and teachers, as well as at tabling events in our three-county area. Contact us here: [email protected] if you are interested in these books for your group.
Please note that Spanish names for different birds can vary by country. For this guide, all of the bird names were selected from Kenn Kaufman’s Guía de Campo a las Aves de Norteamérica.
Use this PDF version of the guide in the classroom, with your family, or with your youth group.
