Education

A commitment to education is at the heart of the National Audubon Society tradition. As the local chapter for Chatham, Durham, and Orange Counties, New Hope Bird Alliance embraces this commitment with the goal of educating and engaging youth—our future conservation stewards—to instill in them an understanding of and an appreciation for wildlife and nature.

We provide resources and presentations to adults as well to engage them in supporting wildlife through increased knowledge of our birds, the challenges facing them, and the ways to improve their habitat.
Members of our Education Committee develop educational materials; offer interactive programs focusing on birds and the environment at schools, local libraries, community centers, and nature-themed camps; and provide educational exhibits at fairs and community events.  We partner with New Hope Bird Alliance bird walk leaders in providing youth and family bird walks.

If you would like to request a presentation from one of our education committee volunteers, please send us a message here: Contact Us.
