NHBA Bird Outing
NHBA Bird Outing
August 5, 2026 @ 7:00 am - 10:00 am
For questions, contact Phil Silas at [email protected]. The location will be WhippoorwillPark/Warren Creek Trail, 1632 Rowemont Drive, Durham, NC.
This outing is sponsored by the New Hope Bird Alliance (formerly New Hope Audubon).
Outings usually last 2-3 hours. No reservations or sign-up needed. If there is a large turnout for any particular outing, we may split into two groups. We do recommend carpooling for families or friend pods; while we love pets, there is a ‘no-pet’ policy for bird outings. New birders and birders of all skill levels are welcome.
Please wear long pants, socks, and sturdy shoes (ticks and chiggers may be present). Sun and bug protection are also recommended. Bring snacks and water if you like. Heavy rain will result in cancellation.

For questions, contact Tom Driscoll at [email protected]. The location will be Transis Camp Road (aka Old Hope Valley Farm Road), Chapel Hill, NC. Note there may be no road sign for the turn but there is a brown game lands sign across Farrington Road from the turn. There are no other turns nearby so if you think you're close, that's it. When you have gone about a mile, the road will take a 90-degree right turn and there is a large parking lot on the left. We will meet there (35 51 37 N, 78 59 26.25 W). An old but good description including directions can be found here.
